History

In 1984, five men who were unsatisfied with the limited services provided by existing engineering firms united. Together, they established a niche firm whose focus was on filling a void in the industry. From this, Geotechnology was born.

Over the years, the firm has completed geotechnical, environmental, materials testing, geophysical, non-destructive testing and drilling projects for clients all over the Midwest and Midsouth. Furthermore, since our founding, we have grown from a six-person firm to a 280+ person corporation.

With our headquarters, drill shop and construction materials testing lab located in a 39,000-square-foot facility in St. Louis, Missouri, we are able to streamline projects and enhance communication. To better serve our clients’ needs, we also have offices in Erlanger and Lexington, Kentucky; Kansas City, Kansas; Fairview Heights, Illinois; Memphis, Tennessee; Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio; Oxford, Mississippi; and Jonesboro, Arkansas. We have built our reputation on responsiveness and are well-known in the field for managing our own materials testing laboratories and owning and operating our own fleet of exploration rigs.

Geotechnology’s growth can be attributed to our strong relationships with longstanding clients and our highly qualified and dedicated staff of professionals. In 1996, 2010, 2013 and 2015 Geotechnology acquired substantially all of the assets of ANCO Testing Laboratory, Hall, Blake & Associates, EOI- Illinois and Thelen Associates respectively which has also been a key factor in our growth.

In 2017 Geotechnology ranked #391 in ENR’s Top Engineering Firms.
