In February 2010 John Baker, Construction Materials Testing & Non-destructive Testing Group Manager, earned the Diplomate, Geotechnical Engineering (D.GE) certification through The Academy of Geo-Professionals (AGP), a group within the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Geo-Institute. This Specialty Certification is a post-license credential program that provides recognition for geotechnical engineers. The D.GE is based upon formal education, professional licensure, professional engineering experience, strong professional ethics, oral or written examination, and continuing professional development. John is part of AGP’s second class of D.GE recipients and the only person in Geotechnology with this certification.
John co-founded Geotechnology, Inc. in 1984 and continues to serve as a leader and mentor within the firm and the St. Louis engineering community. He served as principal-in-charge of three of the firm’s largest contracts: Special Inspections and Construction Materials Testing for the St. Louis Cardinals New Downtown Ballpark; Quality Assurance Testing for the City of St. Louis Lambert-St. Louis International Airport Expansion; and Quality Assurance Testing for the Metro Cross-County Expansion in St. Louis.
