Dale Smith, P.E., F.ASCE is the Geotechnical Manager for the South Region, covering Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi. He is responsible for the management of geotechnical investigation and design projects. He has extensive experience in geotechnical engineering investigation and foundation design related to construction of building structures, roads and highway/railroad bridges, and industrial facilities. His experience includes foundation investigation and design for existing dams and levees; stormwater/sewage systems; buildings; and industrial oil/gas facilities. While Mr. Smith works on projects of all sizes he is particularly accomplished in managing large scale, long term, multi-location projects that span the breadth of Geotechnology’s services.

Dale Smith’s Background

Dale joined Geotechnology in 1995 and since then has held a number of positions and is the only employee to have worked in three of our offices. These include St. Louis, Collinsville/Fairview Heights and now Memphis. Dale is very active in professional organizations such as American Society of Civil Engineers, American Council of Engineering Companies and Engineers Club of St. Louis.

In 2012, Mr. Smith received Fellow status with the American Society of Civil Engineers. Fellows have made celebrated contributions and developed creative solutions that change lives. This prestigious honor is held by 3% of ASCE members.
