The Prairie State Energy Campus is a coal-fired power plant near Marissa, Illinois. The campus generates electricity for more than 1.5 million Midwest families. It creates more than 450 permanent jobs and injects $100 million into the regional economy. The campus includes an underground coal mine with the 1,600-megawatt power plant. Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) has begun its $4.7 billion, 23-year, wastewater/stormwater system overhaul. This project was launched for remediating the combined sewer system originally built before the Civil War — the first system to be built west of the Mississippi River. The system needed to be improved to be compliant with USEPA and MDNR standards.

Geotechnology provided geotechnical recommendations for the replacement of four bridges for the Mississippi Department of Transportation. Geotechnology oversaw the construction of one bridge as well as redevelopment of three others. In 1993, Chesterfield Valley faced historic flooding due to the failure of the Monarch-Chesterfield Levee. The levee district has since authorized its redesign and reconstruction to a 500-year flood level. Geotechnology, under subcontract to Sverdrup Civil, Inc., completed six separate drilling assignments as part of the design phase of its redevelopment program. Geotechnology provided environmental, geotechnical subsurface exploration and geotechnical consulting services for the Mitsubishi Electric Power Products (MEPPI) manufacturing facility and connecting rail line. MEPPI’s new $207 million electric transformer manufacturing facility is on an approximately 150-acre site in south Memphis. The facility required rail connection to access nearby rail lines. This project included renovations for Brandon, Flower, Hahne, and Hepburn Residence Halls at the Miami University campus in Oxford, Ohio. Renovations also affected Martin Dining Hall and a portion of the North Chiller Plant at Billings Hall.
