Geotechnology, Inc., a leading provider of geotechnical and environmental engineering, materials testing, geophysics, water resource management, and drilling services, announced today that Robert C. “Rob” Lauer, RG, has been hired as a senior geologist in the firm’s St. Louis Geotechnical Group.
Mr. Lauer recently retired from the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), where he spent the last 34 years as a geologist. During that time Mr. Lauer provided technical guidance for the geotechnical aspects of most major MoDOT construction projects, including the I-64 Design/Build, the Boone Bridge replacement, and Route 141 relocation.
A Registered Geologist (RG) in the State of Missouri, Mr. Lauer joins Geotechnology with extensive project management experience, and expertise in the areas of soil remediation, aggregates and aggregate testing.
Mr. Lauer is a 1979 graduate of the University of Missouri, where he earned a BS degree in Geology. He is an active member in the Association of Missouri Geologists and the Transportation Engineers Association of Missouri.
Mr. Lauer and his wife of 32 years, Jayne, are the parents of 3 grown children. Rob enjoys hiking, fishing and golf in his spare time.
