Geotechnology, Inc., a leading provider of geotechnical and environmental engineering, geophysics, water resource management, materials testing, and drilling services, announced today that Dr. Ashraf Elsayed, PE, has received the designation of Diplomate, Geotechnical Engineering (D.GE) by the Academy of Geo-Professionals. This prestigious post-license credential provides professional engineers an opportunity to gain further recognition in the field of geotechnical engineering.
Dr. Elsayed is currently Chief Engineer and Geotechnical Manager at Geotechnology’s Memphis, TN office. He began his engineering career in highway and airport construction in Cairo, Egypt, which was followed by graduate studies. Since earning his Ph.D. in 1995, he’s focused on geotechnical engineering, and continues to share his knowledge of transportation engineering and construction with clients, employees and students alike.
Dr. Elsayed joined the Memphis office in 2000, when it was known as Hall, Blake and Associates, Inc., and has served in leadership roles ever since. He also enjoys teaching as an assistant professor at Arkansas State University, helping young professionals grow and watching them develop their skills over the years. He previously taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Memphis, and during his graduate studies at the University of Alabama.
Dr. Elsayed is a member of the Governor of Arkansas Earthquake Advisory Council (GEAC), the Christian Brothers University Civil Engineering Advisory Board and the Southwest Tennessee Community College Advisory Board. In addition to engineering, he enjoys travelling, listening to music and watching sports, and is a devout fan of the University of Alabama Crimson Tide.
