Phased Array Ultrasonics

Engineers at work at construction site

Although our non-destructive testing group staff has been applying ultrasonic testing to projects for many years, the recent addition of phased array ultrasonic equipment has proven to be beneficial for our clients, especially industrial and transportation. The phased array method allows the operator to examine a steel part or weld from multiple angles using a single probe to create a detailed picture of internal conditions and test for anomolies. Unlike traditional x-ray methods, we don’t have to clear the area before performing the inspection, it’s higher speed, it’s easier to operate in areas with limited access, and it provides higher quality data.
