On Tuesday, September 14, 2010, the Geotechnology St. Louis Drilling Group attained 1,000 workdays without a loss-time accident. This amounts to over 141,000 man hours worked.
“I’m very proud of this achievement, particularly because of the inherent risks associated with drilling,” said John Bostwick, R.G., Geotechnology’s St. Louis Drilling Group Manager. “It’s also a testament to the success of Geotechnology’s company-wide safety program.”
Geotechnology takes a multi-pronged approach to managing safety, including:
- Safety Training
- Enhanced Safety Incentive Program
- Revitalized Safety Team
- Increased Safety Observations
- Enhanced Communication
This approach successfully contributed to a more than 60% decrease from 2008 to the present in the company’s OSHA recordable incident rate.
