GM Roof Replacement Project Background

This multi-year project requires full-time inspection. Our scope included documenting the condition of the existing metal deck following removal of the existing roofing materials and observing any repairs made to the metal deck. We also observed all roofing material installations including insulation, roof board overlay, saddles, crickets, drains and roofing membranes (TPO or modified bitumen systems). Additionally, we oversaw coping, flashing, drive path buildup and safety markings. Reports summarizing our observations were e-mailed daily to the project team to improve project communication.

Geotechnology’s field representatives continuously look ahead to note any potential problem areas where proper roof drainage may be of concern. Our representatives directly communicate with the roof designer and contractor. Accordingly, changes can be made in the field limiting construction delays. This proactive approach along with Geotechnology’s experience and ability to work as a team member has added great value to the client.
